BIG’s Second Twisting Tower For The XI Tops at 76 Eleventh Avenue, in Chelsea

The pair of twisting towers at 76 Eleventh Avenue, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, are now officially topped out. Located in Chelsea, the shorter 300-foot tall building reached its twentieth floor one week ago. The complex, dubbed “The XI,” sits to the west of the High Line, just north of Chelsea Market and the Urban Theater over Eleventh Avenue. HFZ Capital is the developer of the 908,250-square foot site, while Omnibuild is in charge of constructing the reinforced concrete structures. 76 Eleventh Avenue will be a mix of residential units and a Six Senses Hotel.

192 Seventh Avenue South Tops Out, Exterior Work Continues in The West Village

Work on 192 Seventh Avenue South in the West Village is making steady progress. Underneath the black construction netting and scaffolding, the mixed-use building has already topped-out and the exterior brick and glass curtain wall can be seen from across the street. The building is being designed by SRA Architecture + Engineering and replaces an old one-story commercial structure. It is being developed by The Jackson Group and will contain four full-floor residences.

New Video Highlights Central Park Tower as the Tallest Residential Building in the World

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill have released a new video featuring Central Park Tower. The future 1,550-foot tall skyscraper will soon eclipse 432 Park Avenue as the tallest residential building in the world. The site is addressed as 217 West 57th Street, and will be the tallest skyscraper on 57th Street, aka “Billionaire’s Row,” within the next few months. Recent photos also show construction getting closer to the 137-story pinnacle.

Construction Making Headway for Minskoff’s 11-19 Jane Street, in The West Village

11-19 Jane Street is an upcoming mixed-use residential and commercial project tightly nestled among the narrow streets of the West Village. The new 31,000 square foot structure will eventually rise six stories from a large rectangular plot of land that once held a two-story parking garage. It is being designed by London-based design firm David Chipperfield Architects, and developed by Edward Minskoff of Minksoff Equities. A total of seven residential units will be housed inside the building, averaging 2,382 square feet each.

Renderings Revealed for Harlem’s Future Tallest Skyscraper, at 260-270 West 126th Street

A new mixed-use residential skyscraper is scheduled to rise at 260-270 West 126th Street in Central Harlem. Renderings have recently been released for the upcoming 385,000 square foot structure. Along with apartments, there will also be a church on the ground floor and a three-story theater. The Thomas Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church partially occupies the property. The location of the proposed 42-story tower sits to the west of the famous Apollo Theater and has been used as a parking lot for a number of years. The dimensions of the site are about 125 feet long and 10 feet deep.
