18 Sixth Avenue is approaching the halfway mark on the way up to its 49-story parapet in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed in a joint venture between The Brodsky Organization and Greenland Forest City Partners, the nearly 500-foot-tall structure will contain 858 rental units, of which 258 will be dedicated to affordable housing. The development will yield 740,000 square feet and stand as the tallest building in the massive 22-acre Pacific Park master plan.
Construction is getting close to topping out at One University Plaza, a 34-story mixed-use structure at 61 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the 435-foot-tall building is part of Long Island University‘s expansion and will add 370,960 square feet of new space to the campus.
Jeanne Gang’s 620-foot-tall, 57-story residential skyscraper at 11 Hoyt Street is getting closer to completion in Downtown Brooklyn. The installation of the wavy, rippling envelope is practically finished and most of the activity has shifted to the podium. The building is being developed by Tishman Speyer and designed by Studio Gang, with Hill West Architects as the architect of record. Michaelis Boyd Associates is leading the interior design for the 481 residential units, which come with 190 unique layouts.
Exterior work has been progressing rapidly at One Willoughby Square, a 495-foot-tall office skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Alternately addressed as 420 Albee Square, the façade paneling has reached the parapet of the 34-story office skyscraper, which is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty. The project will debut as the tallest new office building in Brooklyn and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of the ongoing construction.
Construction is moving along on 291 Livingston Street, a 22-story hotel in Downtown Brooklyn. The 189-foot-tall structure is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and is being developed by Aview Equities and Hello Living, which purchased the narrow plot for $11.1 million. The hotel is planned to contain 100 guest rooms and a ground-floor beer garden.
