Construction is getting close to topping out at 260 Gold Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by J Frankl Associates and developed by Gold Street Realty Holdings, the 13-story residential project will yield 194,089 square feet divided among 286 units, for an average of 689 square feet apiece.
Work is entering the final stretch on Jeanne Gang’s 620-foot-tall, 57-story residential skyscraper at 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Installation of the wavy, rippling exterior is substantially complete with only the section behind the mechanical hoist awaiting completion. Meanwhile, the podium and entry areas are beginning to take shape on the residential building, which is developed by Tishman Speyer and designed by Studio Gang, with Hill West Architects as the architect of record. Edmund Hollander of Hollander Design is in charge of landscaping for the outdoor green space above the motor courtyard, while Michaelis Boyd Associates is leading the interior design for the residential units.
Construction is around two-thirds of the way to the parapet at 800 Flatbush Avenue, aka Caton Flats, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Work has moved along rapidly on the 255-unit affordable housing complex since construction began in May of 2019. The mixed-use development will also house the Flatbush-Caton Market, which originally occupied the site and is temporarily operating a few blocks south at 2184 Clarendon Road. The project is designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the Housing Development Corporation, the Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the BRP Companies.
Construction is now above street level at 58 West 39th Street, aka H Hotel W39, in Midtown. Designed by Peter F. Poon Architect and developed by Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC, the 29-story structure is rising from a narrow plot below Bryant Park between Fifth and Sixth Avenue.
Construction has reached the final floors of 368 Third Avenue in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay. The 388-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure has risen rapidly since mid-June, when excavation was still underway. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Minrav Development, the 35-story, 145,000-square-foot building will house 100 apartments for an average of 1,100 square feet apiece.
