Curbed has the latest renderings for the seven-story, 62-unit residential building — dubbed The Grove — currently under construction at 30-40 21st Street, in western Astoria. The project is being developed by Tsilo Group and designed by TKA Studio. Construction began in late 2013, and opening is projected for this upcoming fall.
The Real Deal reports Taconic Investment Partners has landed $200 million in construction loans for their 24-story, 392-unit mixed-use project at 525 West 52nd Street, in Hell’s Kitchen. YIMBY brought you news of the project almost exactly a year ago, and Handel is designing. Seventy-nine residential units are expected to be set aside as affordable, and the site’s former five-story structure was demolished in 2014.
Property owner Issak Tavalov has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit mixed-use building measuring 2,830 square feet at the vacant lot at 5716 New Utrecht Avenue, in southern Borough Park. Retail space will measure 850 square feet on the ground floor, and Sandor Weiss, of Gelu Durus Musica, is the architect of record.
While Extell has avoided posting any information on-site or online for 217 West 57th Street, YIMBY has brought you two sets of plans for the building, with the most recently obtained versions (dated June of 2014) depicting a 1,795-foot pinnacle. We have now obtained an official rendering Extell is using for the project, dated from this March, confirming it will look almost identical to both versions previously revealed by YIMBY as well as the image of the tower created in-house at Smith + Gill.
Earlier this week, YIMBY brought you an update on the William Vale Hotel in north Williamsburg, and now we’ve got a look at the creatively named Williamsburg Hotel rising nearby at 96 Wythe Avenue.
