Permits have been filed for two five-story residential buildings at 88-30 and 88-34 54th Avenue in Elmhurst, Queens. The sites sits four blocks away from the Grand Avenue-Newton Subway Station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. The 440,000 square foot Queens Place Mall is also only two blocks away, designed by SOM Architects, and completed in 1965. Xiu Qin Shi will develop 88-30, and Bi Jin Huang will be responsible for the development of 88-34.
Permits have been filed for a two-story commercial building at 308 East 126th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan. The site is six blocks from the 125th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 4, 5, and 6 trains. One block further is the Harlem Metro North train station. The project is located right next to Harlem River Drive, the northern extension of FDR drive.
The blocks of Hudson Yards are the current hotspot for office construction in New York City, with supertall after supertall rising from nothing. But Midtown East might be the only location in Manhattan where major office projects are rising alongside existing fabric. While One Vanderbilt is only beginning to rise above 42nd Street, work is substantially further along at 425 Park Avenue, where Norman Foster’s vision is now climbing past the stump remaining from the site’s former occupant.

Nestled between the Manhattan Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge, the area is being reinvented under the helm of Steiner NYC, into a multi-use commercial hub accessible to the public.
Early renderings are out for a sleek and modern building at 378 Broome Street, in Little Italy. The project will replace the Chapel of San Lorenzo Ruiz, a defunct Catholic church that was sold for over $7 million to real estate firm Urban Standard Development, after the Archdiocese of New York declared that it was no longer sacred.
