Construction Wraps on 60 Fulton Street, Financial District

Construction is wrapping up on 60 Fulton Street, with the leasing gallery opening mid-October. Hill West Architects are responsible for the design, and the the 23-story tower has been dubbed “Exhibit,” in recognition of the curated photographic art exhibition on permanent display throughout the lobby, hallways, and amenity areas.

Permits Filed for Religious Community Facility at 51 Park Place, Tribeca

With verticality possibly imminent at 45 Park Place, on the edge of the Financial District and Tribeca, Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties has now filed applications for a neighboring community facility, at 51 Park Place. Scott Newman of Cooper Robertson is listed as the architect, and the plans seem to be an updated version of the site’s former mosque, which was demolished back in 2011 to make way for the new residential tower.

Journal Squared’s Next 72-Story Tower Breaks Ground in Journal Square, Jersey City

After a few years of waiting, construction has finally begun on the second phase of Journal Squared, in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood. Back in August, YIMBY interviewed Mayor Fulop who indicated progress on the site would be imminent, and now the latest photos from apophenic show that excavation has officially commenced on the tower. Designed by HWKN/Hollwich Kushner and Handel Architects, it will stand 72 floors and 759 feet to its rooftop.
