Brookfield has officially celebrated the topping out of the 67-story One Manhattan West, aka OMW, the largest of six structures in their six million square foot Manhattan West development in Midtown West. The project has successfully lured several large companies to lease, and plans to add a significant amount of public space to the city. Permits have been filed for a five-story religious facility at 4902 14th Avenue in Borough Park, Brooklyn. The synagogue will rise in the heart of the neighborhood’s Jewish community. The site is five blocks away from the 50th Street subway station, serviced by the D trains. Manuel Scharf of Scharf Group LLC will be responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 529 East 187th Street in the Belmont neighborhood of The Bronx. The site is five blocks away from the Fordham train station, serviced by Metro-North, and eight blocks from the Fordham subway station, serviced by the D trains. Four blocks further is the 4 train. Michael Rocco is listed as behind the applications.
The City Council has unanimously approved the controversial 80 Flatbush project in Boerum Hill after a reduction in size and scale. While the drop in density is not ideal, the the buildings will still be a large player for the housing market and community at large, and will punctuate the neighborhood’s skyline with two new towers that appear both prominent and promising in terms of design.
