Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use affordable housing facility at 1769 Fort George Hill, in Inwood. The structure would be an improvement from the site’s current situation. Residents have complained that the parking on the vacant lot has expanded without permits, and been used for commercial parking and a car wash. South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBro) will be responsible for the development.
Construction is wrapping up on 60 Fulton Street, with the leasing gallery opening mid-October. Hill West Architects are responsible for the design, and the the 23-story tower has been dubbed “Exhibit,” in recognition of the curated photographic art exhibition on permanent display throughout the lobby, hallways, and amenity areas.
With verticality possibly imminent at 45 Park Place, on the edge of the Financial District and Tribeca, Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties has now filed applications for a neighboring community facility, at 51 Park Place. Scott Newman of Cooper Robertson is listed as the architect, and the plans seem to be an updated version of the site’s former mosque, which was demolished back in 2011 to make way for the new residential tower.
The Kalikow Group has broken ground on their seven-story residential building at 2415 Church Avenue, for which YIMBY has the first renderings. Kalikow Group, WRS Associates, and the Ishay Group are joint owners of the property, and permits were filed for the project in early 2015.
Yesterday, YIMBY reported on the latest progress at Brookfield’s Manhattan West, in Midtown West/Hudson Yards. Today, the first filings have appeared for the site’s second office tower, which will sit on the northwest corner of 31st Street and Ninth Avenue, and has evidently seen a moderate height chop.
