New York City is one step closer to getting another interior landmark. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission held a public hearing on the designation of the Ambassador Grill and lobby at 1 and 2 United Nations Plaza.
Over a year ago, Blesso Properties shelled out $33 million for the former Lincoln Savings Bank site at 525 Broadway, next to the elevated subway tracks in Williamsburg. Now they’ve filed plans for a 27-story, mixed-use building that will be nearly evenly divided between apartments and office space.

Big, mixed-use developments are slowly reshaping Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, which is one of Queens’s fastest growing neighborhoods, after Flushing and Long Island City. Now, a new seven-story, mixed-use building is headed for 84-18 Queens Boulevard, in the heart of the area’s Chinatown.
The northeastern Bronx is still a bastion of small market-rate development. Yesterday, plans surfaced for a six-story, market-rate apartment building at 3545 White Plains Road in Williamsbridge, a couple blocks east of Woodlawn Cemetery and the Bronx River.
