When it comes to sweeping and far-reaching change, few areas have transformed as rapidly as West Chelsea. But while condo-fication is normally associated with displacement of galleries, that is not the case here, and now demolition applications have been filed for an old building at 542 West 22nd Street, which will be cleared to make way for a new outpost by Hauser & Wirth.
A stalled residential development at 531 Coney Island Avenue, on the border between Ditmas Park and Kensington in Brooklyn, is finally coming back to life. A tipster sent along this photo of the site at the corner of Hinckley Place, adding that the schematics were posted on the construction fence earlier this month.

And while the latest additions across the Hudson have been predominantly residential, YIMBY has word that a 95-story tower is now in the works at 55 Hudson Street, which could make it the tallest building in both Jersey City, and all of New Jersey.

Slate Property Group, Adam America and Naveh Shuster Limited are carving a path through the Broadway Triangle in Williamsburg, beginning with plans for a 96-unit building at 120 Union Avenue a year ago. Now they’ve filed new building applications for another residential development down the street at 100 Union Avenue, on the corner of Middleton Street.
