Central Harlem is soon going to have one fewer vacant lot. Developer Rafael Santandreu hopes to build a nine-story, mixed-use building at the corner of 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, next to the 135th Street stop on the B and C trains.
For years, YIMBY has been reporting on plans for a high-rise residential tower at 118 Fulton Street, between Nassau and Dutch streets in the Financial District. No building exists yet, but the design has apparently changed again, per on-site renderings posted to the YIMBY Forums.
Yesterday, we told you about a hotel coming to a commercially zoned patch of western Crown Heights. Now, YIMBY has spotted plans for another hotel in the midst of a residential area, but this one is headed for the border between Ocean Hill and Brownsville in eastern Brooklyn. Developer Nehalkumar Gandhi has filed building applications for a six-story hotel at 1668 Eastern Parkway, at the corner of Prospect Place.
The vacant lots that remind Crown Heights of its worst years are slowly giving way to development. On the western edge of the neighborhood, in a lot next to the Franklin Avenue shuttle tracks, a new six-story building is in the works. The development would rise at 916 Bergen Street, between Franklin and Classon Avenues.
A nearly 150-year-old residential structure in Brooklyn will soon get a facelift. The Landmarks Preservation Commission recently approved the restoration of 218 Guernsey Street, located at the corner of Oak Street in the Greenpoint Historic District.
