Construction has topped out on 2230 Cropsey Avenue, a 30-story residential building in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Cropsey Partners LLC, the 356-foot-tall structure will span 280,000 square feet and yield 248 rental apartments, community space, and 170 parking spaces. NY Developers is the general contractor for the project, which is alternately addressed as 1625 Shore Parkway and located between Cropsey Avenue and Belt Parkway.

Recent photos show the reinforced concrete superstructure standing at its pinnacle with the glass curtain wall already covering a third of the tower. The windows are arranged into a staggered grid of squares and rectangles spanning one to two levels, framed with dark mullions. The multi-story podium remains covered in black netting and metal scaffolding, and will eventually be clad in red brick and topped with landscaping.

The building will house seven to 11 units per level. Amenities include a swimming pool and a terrace and lounge space on the 23rd floor, residential storage, bike storage, a shared laundry room, a fitness center, a daycare center, and an ambulatory care facility.

The nearest subway from the property is the D train at the elevated Bay Parkway station to the northeast, at the intersection of Bay Parkway and 86th Street. The Belt Parkway is also conveniently accessible to the north along Bay Parkway, which also leads further south to the Caesar’s Bay Shopping Center. Bensonhurst Park is a quick walk across Bay Parkway.

2230 Cropsey Avenue is slated to be finished in early 2024.

Only beautiful towers have sprung up to considered the era of the heyday on tall buildings, with a very clear unique design. I was fascinated by the progress on its facade, the length of street level and a tower it seems contradictory to look at; which are not the same: Thanks to Michael Young.

  2. Eh, it’s alright.

Seems more like it should be at Hudson Yards.

  4. These Glass Buildings murder 80000 to 200000 birds JUST IN NYC alone every year.

    They a crime..

    • Is this satire? I hope so.

There’s like 500 billion birds in the world.

I suppose you refuse to drive or ride in automobiles because of potential squirrel and insect death. Hell just think how many ants are massacred just strolling down the block.

      • You comment is asinine, you show no sense of humanity or respect of this planet. Or any empathy for other living beings.. I bet you a Republican and call yourself a Christian..

      • NFA dumbest comment you have ever made on this site.
you obviously couldn’t care less about other species on this planet but the destructive human race.

        • You just a sick POS human!
equating ants to birds with high intelligence show how dumb you are

          • Is it only a problem if you kill intelligent creatures? What does intelligence have to do with the value of a life

        • To protect the country’s native wildlife, Germany has built more than 80 “green bridges” since 2005, helping hundreds of thousands of native animals cross roads safely, including elk, deer, wild boars, wolves, foxes, badgers, raccoons and other animals..

You against that, perhaps work on ways to reduce bird killings but you so DUCKED up with republican hate and BS.. you a scymbagg

          • You not cases sound like those loony yimbys outside DC that wanted to block the entire purple line rail project because some albino newt might be affected by moving some dirt around or some nonsense.

          • My god, Russell—how do you sleep at night with all those dead birds, ants, deer, etc., on your conscience? Btw—do you think ants or birds are smarter? Hmmm…. They do call ‘em ‘bird brains’! Maybe only the stupid birds fly into skyscrapers—ya know, like Darwinian selection? Ridiculous.

  5. It doesnt bother me that its ho-hum design wise – I just like seeing Brooklyn towers on the lower bay. The whole southern coast should be high rises with water views. The way southern Brooklyn developed with 2 story SFH right on the parkway is bizarre.

    • you see the low rise buildings that this out of context glass piece of crap building is abutting.
That’s the Brooklyn that everyone loves , not this glass box piece of crap that has destroyed the character of this block and neighborhood.

      • Okay boomer.

Lock Brooklyn in amber. Sounds great. Good thing you’re not in charge of anything.

      • Would you seriously stop saying “piece of crap” in every single comment you make on this site! Seriously it’s getting very tiresome and annoying to see and why don’t you do everyone a favor and stop commenting if you’re going to have the same answer and choice of words

Everyone here can do a lot better without you…

  6. It’s progress I’m proud to part of this growing brooklyn nieborhood
