LPC Reviews New Proposal to Expand a Private Residence at 267 West 11th Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Suk Design Group will again appear before the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission to present revised proposals to renovate and expand the rear portion of a private residence in the Greenwich Village Historic District. Located at 267 West 11th Street, the unique property includes a four-story structure with an additional single-story, enclosed structure in the rear courtyard that dates back to the 1930’s.

Two Major New Residential Skyscrapers Filed at 57-28 2nd Street & 1-15 57th Avenue, in Long Island City’s Hunters Point South

Permits have been filed for two major new towers at 57-28 2nd Street and 1-15 57th Avenue in Hunters Point South. The two proposed, glass residential buildings are being designed by Handel Architects and will sit at the intersection of 57th Avenue and 2nd Street. The sites are located in Long Island City by the Hunters Point South ferry terminal. Both towers are being developed by Gotham and Riseboro Community Partnership.

New Senior Housing Facility at 139 East 56th Street Tops Out in Midtown Manhattan

139 East 56th Street, aka 677-681 Lexington Avenue, recently topped out 17 stories above Midtown. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Hines and Welltower, the new senior-housing facility is called “Sunrise” and is located at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. Facade installation at ground level has also commenced. The two developers previously paid $115 million for the 9,236-square foot site. The tower now stands 218 feet to its rooftop.
