New renderings from Timber Equities offer a first look at a pair of multi-unit rental buildings on the rise in the Spuyten Duyvil and Riverdale sections of The Bronx. Based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the developer is responsible for some of the new multi-unit properties approaching construction in these quiet upper-middle-class neighborhoods.
The Pendry Manhattan West Hotel has topped out above the expansive new Manhattan West complex adjacent to Hudson Yards. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, the building features a distinctive fluted glass façade on its northern and southern elevations, an interesting departure from the boxy and angular style of the megaliths that permeate this area of Manhattan. The hotel’s official address is 4 Manhattan West and is expected to debut in 2021.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 173 McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between Meserole Avenue and Calyer Street, the lot is five blocks from the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train. A four-story residential structure at 1064 Hancock Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn has begun construction after filing permits nearly six years ago. The project is being developed by MP Bristol Realty and designed by Think Architecture & Design. Permits for the original project were filed in 2014 and called for a six-unit structure measuring approximately 4,345 square feet. It is unclear why MP Bristol Realty ditched original those plans in favor of the current iteration, which is 45 feet tall and comprises 10,150 square feet.
