New Look: 10 Huron Street, Greenpoint

Northern Greenpoint has construction on every corner, but the biggest new building headed to the formerly quaint waterfront neighborhood is a 39-story tower at 145-155 West Street, once home to the Huxley Envelope factory. Mack Real Estate and Palin Enterprises demolished the large single-story building in January, and now they’re driving piles for the planned 392-foot-tall high rise between Huron and India Streets on the East River. When YIMBY stopped by the site, we found this rendering tacked to the construction fence.

Three Stories, Eight Residential Units Coming To 128 Bard Avenue, West New Brighton

Whitewell Properties has filed applications for four three-story residential buildings, with a combined total of eight units, spanning the lots of 118-130 Bard Avenue, in West New Brighton (on Staten Island’s North Shore). The development will net 8,145 square feet in residential space, which works out to units averaging 1,020 square feet. Think Design Architecture is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story house — last purchased for $560,037 in 2014 — must first be demolished.

Astoria-based Voxx Realty has filed applications for a four-story, two-unit residential building on the small triangular property at 40-20 23rd Road, in northern Astoria’s Ditmars-Steinway. The building is located eight blocks east of the N/Q train’s Astoria Blvd stop, and will boast units averaging 1,365 square feet. Anastasios Giannopoulos is the architect of record, and an existing single-story structure must first be removed.

Three-Story Redevelopment Site At 4302 4th Avenue Purchased, Sunset Park

Earlier this year, the landmarked buildings at 4302 4th Avenue, in northern Sunset Park, were placed on the market as a development site, and now Yosef Streicher has purchased the property for $6 million, according to Commercial Observer. The dilapidating two- and three-story buildings, which amount to nearly 20,000 square feet, need to be gut-renovated, and 14,567 square feet of unused air rights can be used for an expansion. No plans have been disclosed, but changes to the facade would require approval from the LPC.

Four-Story, Three-Unit Residential Project Proposed At 953 Pacific Street, Crown Heights

Earlier this year, applications were filed for a two-family building at 953 Pacific Street, in northwestern Crown Heights, but those plans have since been scraped and a new application calls for a four-story, three-unit residential building, according to DNAinfo. The building will measure 3,984 square feet, with units averaging 1,328 square feet, and Infinity Properties is developing. Suresh Manchanda’s L&C Associates is the architect of record.
