Quay Tower Sees Brooklyn’s First-Ever $20 Million Condominium Sale

Quay Tower is not like most of the new residential skyscrapers rising in Brooklyn. The project sits directly against the Brooklyn Heights waterfront, soaring 30 floors above the neighboring brownstone-filled streets, and features a glassy façade paired with brushed copper-hued metals that evoke the iron girders along Pier 6, nearby. Now, the building has now shattered a record for the entire borough, with its penthouse entering contract for $20 million, nearly $4 million over the previous record for a Brooklyn apartment set by actor Matt Damon.

Permits Filed For Nine-Story Residential Building at 11-37 31st Avenue In Astoria, Queens

A new nine-story residential building is coming to Astoria, Queens, at 11-37 31st Avenue, between Vernon Boulevard and 12th Street. It will stand 91 feet when complete, covering about 110,450 square feet and including 168 units. Christopher Fogarty of Fogarty Finger Architecture is designing, while the owner and developer is David Kronman of Astoria West LLC. The project will be a ground-up development and will replace an extant two-story structure on site.

Morris Adjmi-Designed 30 East 31st Street Reaches 479′ Pinnacle in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction of the 40-story tall and diagrid-tipped 30 East 31st Street has finally topped out in NoMad. It is now showing off its unique crisscross exterior influenced by surrounding Gothic architecture from the 1920’s and ‘30s. Morris Adjmi Architects is responsible of the design. Along with topping out, glass installation is nearing the peak. Installation of the metal paneling has not yet started.
