Alloy Development recently secured $290 million in permanent financing for 505 State Street, a 44-story all-electric tower in Downtown Brooklyn. Also designed by Alloy, the 482-foot-tall foot tall structure is nearing completion and will yield 441 rental apartments, with 45 designated for affordable housing. The Flatironesque building is located at the intersection of State Street and Flatbush Avenue.
Permits have been filed for a 16-story mixed-use building at 526 4th Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of 14th Street and 4th Avenue, the lot is a short walk from the 4th Avenue-9th Street subway station, serviced by the F, G, and R trains. Joseph Safdie of JB Construction & Design is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Kicking off the top ten on our annual countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is Lumen LIC, a 754-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 23-15 44th Road in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by FSA Capital, the 66-story structure will span 855,400 square feet and yield 921 rental units with an average scope of 910 square feet, as well as lower-level office space and 17,400 square feet of ground-floor retail. The residential inventory is planned to include 282 affordable housing units. The property is alternately addressed as 43-30 24th Street and located along 44th Road between 23rd and 24th Streets.
Construction is progressing on 1110 Manhattan Avenue, a six-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by ARC Architecture + Design Studio and developed by Nadav Ohana under the 1110 Manhattan Group LLC, the structure will yield six condominium units and is located on a narrow 3,750-square foot interior lot between Clay and Dupont Streets.
At number 11 on our countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 12 West 57th Street, a forthcoming 672-foot-tall residential skyscraper along Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill and developed by Sheldon Solow of Solow Management Corp., the 52-story structure will take the place of multiple former low- and mid-rise buildings between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and West 56th and 57th Streets.
