Developers are snapping up lots near the BQE in East Williamsburg every chance they get, and now the increasingly pricey hood will get a six-story mixed-use apartment building at 387 Manhattan Avenue. New building applications were filed today for the 18,429-square-foot development, which will fill a vacant lot between Frost and Withers Streets, half a block from the highway and Meeker Avenue.
111 West 57th Street’s excavation progress was recently featured on YIMBY, and since then, a new exterior rendering surfaced on Curbed, along with the new teaser site. Thanks to a tipster, YIMBY can now reveal a slew of interior and exterior renderings for the SHoP-designed supertall tower, which is being developed by JDS and Property Markets Group.
YIMBY has the first look for a Karl Fischer project coming to 1060 Bedford Avenue in Bed Stuy, which will result in a five-story condo building with retail that will replace a car repair shop. Permits were filed back in September to build on the site, a 7,500-square-foot corner lot that fronts Clifton Place and Bedford and sits only a block from the Bedford-Nostrand G train station.
Six stories have risen so far at Water and Bridge Streets in Dumbo, where the Greystone-developed Waterbridge 47 condos are quickly taking shape.
YIMBY has featured two stories on the new Census data so far: the first on the actual numbers, and the second on how New York City is growing far faster than anticipated, already almost reaching its projected population for 2020. But in terms of milestones, the biggest story of all is that the New York metropolitan area has now passed the 20 million person mark, with the 2014 estimate clocking in at 20,092,883 individuals.
