Donald Brennan made his name in Brooklyn development by building one of the most borough’s most attractive ground-up townhouse projects on Strong Place in Cobble Hill, and now he’s moving much further east with a seven-story residential building at 822 Lexington Avenue in Bed Stuy.
Jarrett Huddleston has revived applications, originally filed in 2013, for two buildings spanning the lots 22-24 Frost Street in Williamsburg. At No. 22, a five-story, eight-unit residential building is planned, which works out to each unit averaging a spacious 1,160 square feet. At No. 24, a four-story, two-unit mixed-use building is in store, which will include a small 425 square-foot retail portion. That building will total 5,045 square feet. Robert James is the architect of record, and demolition began last January to remove the existing single-story structure.
In May, YIMBY brought you news of a residential conversion at 555 West End Avenue, on the Upper West Side, which, at the time, was denied the green light at its LPC presentation. Curbed now has news of the project’s approval, which received minor revisions. Cary Tamarkin is developing and designing the conversion of the six-story building, which will eventually be expanded by one floor to have 12 to 15 units.
Back in early September, in the midst of the Great Filing Frenzy of 2014, permits went up for a new residential tower spanning 38-46 West 33rd Street, just southeast of Herald Square. Now YIMBY has the reveal for the 36-story building, which has seen a slight height increase from 385 to 405 feet, thanks to a watchful tipster.
