Renderings have been revealed for 475 Bay Street, a new two-phase residential development in Staten Island. Designed by GF55 Partners‘ New York design studio, the project is located in the island’s Stapleton Heights neighborhood just a couple blocks from the Upper Bay waterfront. BFC Partners, the developers of Empire Outlets, is also the entity responsible for 475 Bay Street.
Construction has topped out at 1325 Jerome Avenue, a new affordable housing project in the Mount Eden section of The Bronx. The development is the latest endeavor from The Doe Fund and was completed in collaboration by the GF55 design studio.
Exterior work is progressing on 1100 Avenue of the Americas, a 15-story office building at the corner of West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue, directly across from Bryant Park. Brookfield Properties is the developer of the 386,190-square-foot structure, which is receiving an interior renovation and façade redesign by MdeAS Architects. As revealed in renderings released last fall, the new glass curtain wall will be much lighter and more transparent than the original reflective envelope. The property will contain 357,940 square feet of commercial office space and 11,239 square feet of ground-floor retail area. Aecom Tishman is the general contractor.
Construction appears to have stalled at 128 East 28th Street, an eight-story, ten-unit building in NoMad. Not much progress has occurred since our last update in late December, when the reinforced concrete superstructure was nearing topping out, and work has yet to begin on the undulating metal and glass curtain wall. TRA Studio is the designer and Sinha Development is the developer of the 80-foot-tall, 21,038-square-foot project.
OMA’s New York design studio has unveiled renderings of a three-story rooftop addition for Tiffany & Company’s Fifth Avenue flagship. Located at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan, the project arrives as the structure’s most comprehensive renovation since completion in 1940.
