Back in 2014, YIMBY reported on the unveiling of plans for a massive new mixed-use project at 6208 8th Avenue, in Brooklyn. The site lies on the boundary of Sunset Park and Dyker Heights, and in November of 2014, Community Board 10 voted against recommending the project move forward (though that is ultimately only advisory to City Planning). Three years later, work has yet to begin, but the plans have now seen major adjustments and a complete reconfiguration.
Two years ago, YIMBY reported on new job applications for a three-story commercial and medical office building at 251-73 Jericho Turnpike, in Floral Park, Queens. Now, we have the reveal for the site’s attractive design, which is rising at the corner of Little Neck Parkway, right across the street from Nassau County.
Excavation work is well underway at the site of a planned 59-story, 458-unit mixed-use tower under development at 138 Willoughby Street, located on the corner of Flatbush Avenue Extension in Downtown Brooklyn. A photo reveals multiple excavators active on site, as well as footings for the foundation. The latest building permits have the project measuring 686,830 square feet and rising 696 feet to its parapet.
A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 91 Port Richmond Avenue, located on the corner of Ann Street in Elm Park, a neighborhood on Staten Island’s North Shore. The project will measure 6,291 square feet, featuring 1,580 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by six residential units across the second through fourth floors. The apartments should average 785 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Century Consulting Corporation is the applicant of record. The 1,900-square-foot lot is occupied by a single-story commercial building. Demolition permits have not been filed.
An anonymous College Point-based company has filed applications for a four-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 25-62 97th Street, located on the corner of Astoria Boulevard in East Elmhurst. The project will measure 11,876 square feet. There will be medical office space in the cellar and 4,286 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The residential units will be located across the second through fourth floors and should average 759 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Roslyn, N.Y.-based CNA Builders & Consultant Corp. is the applicant of record. The 6,308-square-foot lot was occupied by a single-story house until June of 2016, when the structure was demolished.
