Construction is complete on 23-20 Jackson Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the 85,851-square-foot structure yields retail space, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp. King Contracting Group was in charge of assembling the red brick façade for the property, which is located at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Pearson Street.
Façade installation is getting close to completion on Parcel F, a 57-story residential skyscraper in the two-tower Gotham Point development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by The Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the 559-foot-tall tower stands adjacent to Parcel G, its 33-story, 443-foot-tall sibling. Together, the buildings will yield 1,132 rental apartments, of which 75 percent will be dedicated to affordable housing with age-restricted homes for seniors, as well as a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority and a 5-acre waterfront park constructed by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation. Handel Architects is the interior designer and BHDM was responsible for the model apartment interiors for the property, which is bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.
Renderings from INOA Architecture reveal The Miroza Tower, a 25-story residential building at 44 Hudson Street in downtown Yonkers. When complete, the tower will introduce 250 rentals with a collection of amenity spaces and a small commercial component on the ground floor.
Façade installation has begun as construction continues to rise on 77-87 Commercial Street, a two-tower development along Newtown Creek in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Clipper Equity, the project consists of the 40-story, 429-foot tall, 298-unit 87 Commercial Street and the 30-story, 331-foot tall, 222-unit 77 Commercial Street, connected by a shared seven-story podium. The 811,000-square-foot property will yield 200 affordable housing units and a 300-vehicle parking garage below grade. Ray Builders Inc. is the general contractor, Hatfield Group is the façade consultant, RC Structures is pouring the concrete, and WSP is the structural engineer for the complex, which is located at the confluence of Commercial and Box Streets.
Brickwork is progressing on 45-30 Davis Street, a 21-story residential tower in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Marvel Architects and developed by ZD Jasper Realty and Ascent Development, the 229-foot-tall, 62,000-square-foot building will yield 82 residences averaging 750 square feet as well as ground-floor retail space and 34 parking spots. Tom Wu under Davis Street Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, Modern Spaces is marketing the homes, and King Contracting Group is in charge of doing the brick work and the roofing for the property, which is located off Jackson Avenue between Pearson Street and Davis Street, a short walk from the Court Square station that services the 7, E, M, and G trains.
