Four-Story, 18-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 132 Wyckoff Avenue, Bushwick

Property owner Santino Battiata has filed applications for a four-story, 18-unit mixed-use building at 132 Wyckoff Avenue, in northern Bushwick, located on the corner of Stanhope Street and right above the DeKalb Avenue Station on the L train. The 38,723-square-foot project will replace two two-story buildings at 132-134 Wyckoff and the vacant lot at 130 Wyckoff. There will be 5,272 and 588 square feet of ground-floor retail and medical office space, respectively. Beginning on the floor above, residential units will average a relatively spacious 959 square feet apiece, and the new building will be topped by rooftop recreational space. Douglas Pulaski’s Brooklyn-based Bricolage Designs is the architect of record.

Construction Update: 28 on 28th Soars at 42-12 28th Street, Long Island City

It’s been months since we checked in on Heatherwood Communities’ high-rise residential project at 42-12 28^th Street in Long Island City. As of July, it had reached 10 stories. Now, thanks to somewhat dramatic photos taken by our friend Tectonic, we can see that the 58-story building must be close to its final height.

Landmarks Okays Commercial Renovation at 348 Lafayette Street, NoHo

A former animal hospital in NoHo is set to see a commercial revitalization. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a revised renovation plan for the building at 348 Lafayette Street, which occupies 348-354 Lafayette Street and is also known as 11-13 Bond Street. The building dates back to 1913 and is now in the NoHo Historic District.

Official Renderings Revealed Of Nordstrom Tower’s Retail Base Under Construction At 217 West 57th Street

Last week, YIMBY brought you a sneak peak of the glassy façade that will eventually be installed on Extell Development’s 95-story, 1,550-foot-tall condominium tower (officially Central Park Tower), currently under construction at 217 West 57th Street in Midtown. The supertall will boast Nordstrom’s first Manhattan flagship store, and now the Seattle Times has revealed official renderings of the building’s retail podium. The Seattle-based department store will span 363,000 square feet across eight stories (three below grade) in the development.

On Monday, we told you about a new standalone player coming to the table as construction continues at Hudson Yards and Manhattan West. Now, we have a better look at the 65-story supertall office building designed by Bjarke Ingels. Dubbed “The Spiral,” its address will be 66 Hudson Boulevard. That’s at the corner of Tenth Avenue and West 34^th Street, right across from the Hudson Park and the secondary entrance to the new 7 train terminus.

Just as Long Island City’s residential boom approaches its peak, we’ve come across plans for a 10-story office and retail building at 30-20 Northern Boulevard, next to the elevated subway tracks and Sunnyside Yards.

Construction Update: 153 Remsen Street Reaches For Fourth Floor in Brooklyn Heights

It was back in May of 2014 that YIMBY brought you work of permits being filed for a 60-unit mixed-use development at 153 Remsen Street, between Clinton Street and Court Street in Brooklyn Heights. In July of 2015, we reported that excavation and piling work had begun. Since then the building has reached about four floors, as seen in photos from our friend Tectonic. We also have a better look at the design of the overall structure.

Landmarks Rejects Renovation Of 348 Lafayette Street, NoHo

The proposal to renovate a commercial building in the NoHo Historic District didn’t fly with the members of the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday. The LPC rejected the proposal presented for 348 Lafayette Street, located on the southwest corner of Lafayette and Bond streets.

Developers Plan 48,000 Square-Foot Retail Redevelopment At 410 West 207th Street, Inwood

In December, Taconic Investment Partners and Cogswell-Lee Development Group acquired the ground-lease of 410 West 207th Street, in Inwood. According to Commercial Observer, the developers plan to redevelop the property into commercial-retail space. The site is currently occupied by a single-story, 34,000 square-foot vacant supermarket, formerly a Pathmark. The structure will be renovated to accommodate a new 20,000 square-foot supermarket and multiple smaller retailers. In addition, a 14,000 square-foot retail annex will be built on a section of the parking lot. When construction is completed later this year, parking will be reduced from 200 to 120 car spaces. The property can accommodate a 240,000 square-foot residential development with retail space, although plans for such proposal are not finalized. It sits a stone’s throw away from the 207th Street stop on the 1 train.

Single-Story, 8,700-Square-Foot Retail Building Planned At 71 Schenectady Avenue, Crown Heights

Bawabeh Brothers has filed applications for a single-story, 8,690 square-foot commercial-retail building at 71 Schenectady Avenue, in eastern Crown Heights, located four blocks from the Utica Avenue stop on the A and C trains. The 16-foot-tall structure will replace a vacant 62-foot-wide swath of land, and the leasable retail space will total 4,345 square feet. The retail tenant or tenants will also have access to storage space in the cellar. Brooklyn-based Felix Pustylnik is the applicant of record.
