Excavation Begins for Two-Tower Project at 570 Washington Street in West Village, Manhattan 

Excavation and pilings are underway at 570 Washington Street, the site of a two-tower residential project in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital, and The Baupost Group, the $1.25 billion complex will consist of 29- and 36-story towers rising 400 and 450 feet, respectively, and will yield an undisclosed number of condominium units and commercial space. ACI VI Clarkson LLC is the owner and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which occupies a 1.3-acre block bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and West Street to the west. The developers acquired the plot for $340 million in early 2022 and have projected a $1 billion sellout on the homes.

Construction is progressing on 64 University Place, an 11-story residential building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Bsafal, the 125-foot-tall structure will span 55,000 square feet and yield 28 condominium units with sales and marketing led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the The Eklund ǀ Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as well as a community facility and ground-floor retail space. SPACE Copenhagen is the interior designer, Deborah Nevins is the landscape designer, and CNY Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 10th and East 11th Streets.

YIMBY Tours The Landmark, Tiffany & Co.’s Renovated Flagship Store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

On Friday, April 28, the Tiffany & Co. flagship store reopened its doors to the public at 727 Fifth Avenue after a four-year renovation and structural expansion project in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster with interiors by Peter Marino Architects, the undertaking involved the construction of a new three-story volume above the parapet of the 83-year-old building and the gut renovation of 8,400 square feet of its interiors. Now rebranded as “The Landmark,” the commercial property’s modernization was reportedly the largest single-store investment to date by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH), the company’s owner and majority stakeholder. CallisonRTKL was the architect of record, WSP was the structural and MEP engineer, and Structure Tone was the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street along Billionaires’ Row.
