Pacific Park’s Newest 750-Unit Tower Revealed at 18 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Park, Brooklyn

Details have been revealed for an enormous new 750-unit residential tower at 18 6th Avenue, in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The site is right beside the Barclays Center and is part of Pacific Park, formerly known as Atlantic Yards, a multi-billion dollar 22-acre mega-project that has already seen the completion of four of fifteen eventual buildings. TF Cornerstone and The Brodsky Organization have also now joined Greenland Forest City Partners to finish the project, acquiring land where three of the prospective future skyscrapers will imminently rise.

Permits Filed for 2150 Second Avenue, East Harlem, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a ten-story residential building at 2150 Second Avenue in East Harlem, Manhattan. This differs from an earlier proposal for the site in 2014, measuring about twenty feet shorter. The site is three blocks away from the 110th Street subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Mark NG will now be responsible for the development.

Robert A.M. Stern-Designed 3 Livonia Avenue Set to Break Ground in Brownsville, Brooklyn

On Wednesday, September 26^th, a new, permanently affordable housing block will break ground in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood. Located on a corner lot at 3 Livonia Avenue, “Edwin’s Place” is designed by renowned American architect Robert A.M. Stern for non-profit developer Breaking Ground and the African American Planning Commission.

Virgin Hotel Gets Glassy at 1225 Broadway, Nearly Two-Thirds Of The Way to Topping-Out

Construction on the Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway has reached yet another milestone. Since we last checked in May, the building has more than doubled in height, and is nearly two-thirds of the way to topping out 38 floors above street level. The project is being developed by the Lam Group and is part of a larger trend of new hotel towers in the NoMad area near the Empire State Building.

Restoration Announced for Historic Times Square Theater at 215 West 42nd Street

Stillman Development International has unveiled their ambitious renovation plans for one of New York City’s oldest theaters. Located at 215 West 42nd Street, Times Square Theater was originally constructed in 1920 by Italian architect Eugene de Rosa who designed several performance centers in both Manhattan and Staten Island.

Yesterday, plans to install a temporary winter village on top of the recently built Pier 17 in FiDi went before the LPC, and were approved. The addition will bring an ice rink, warming hut, deck, and market space during the cold season. Howard Hughes is responsible for the $785 million development of the new shopping center and public space.

The Kent is a 30-story residential building at 200 East 95th Street under construction on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Progress is just inches from completion, and the structure is now settling into the surrounding neighborhood.

Permits have been filed for a 19-story residential building at 200 East 20th Street in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park. The development site is less than a block away from the neighborhood’s mysterious namesake, Gramercy Park. CetraRuddy will be responsible for the design.

New Renderings Debut for 35 Hudson Yards, Neighborhood’s First Residential Supertall

New renderings have been released for the 92-story Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM)-designed 35 Hudson Yards, the second tallest structure in the mega-development. Along with the new renderings, images of construction reveal that the façade has shot up to just a few stories under the peak. Once fully installed, all five of the HY towers currently n the skyline will be near completely clad.
