Avery Hall Investments has submitted pre-filing paperwork for a large mixed-use building five blocks away from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. The structure would be yet another modern addition to the rapidly developing neighborhood, and was originally known as 120 Fifth Avenue, though the DOB applications now list it at 680 Baltic Street.
Neighboring the historic Georgian-style King Manor Museum, and the intimidating Supreme Court of Queens County, a new 9-story mixed-use building might just bring more of the 21st Century to Downtown Jamaica, Queens. An anonymous LLC has filed permits for 148-18 Hillside Avenue, located on a busy thoroughfare with dozens of restaurants and shops. Despite being quite distant from Manhattan, the two locations are well connected. It is just three blocks away from the Parsons Boulevard subway station, serviced by the E and F trains.
Sunset Park has seen a substantial amount of infill proposals in the past few months alone, and that trend is only set to continue, with plans now in the works for a commercial redevelopment at 617 62nd Street. Angelo + Anthony Ng’s Architects Studio NY will be designing the site, which will yield a five-story building with a fairly impressive envelope.
A one-story garage in Astoria is about to give way to an attractive new commercial building. The site is located on the corner of 41st Street and 28th Avenue, and permits were filed back in early August. Now, YIMBY has the reveal for the project, which is being designed by Bluarch Architecture.
Staten Island‘s North Shore has been booming with new development over the past few years, with projects including a new outlet mall, a ferris wheel, and various other residential and hotel infill. The rest of the island has also been brimming with similar proposals, with the Staten Island Mall also set for a major expansion. Now, Charleston, on the southwest corner of the island, is about to receive a substantial retail upgrade of its own, with plans submitted for a massive new shopping center totaling almost 600,000 square feet, dubbed the Riverside Galleria, next to Arthur Kill Road and the Outer Bridge Crossing.
