The XI’s Travertine Façade Continues Installation in Chelsea

Installation of the warm-colored travertine façade is continuing on The XI, a twisting pair of 36- and 26-story residential structures at 76 Eleventh Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, the 908,250-square-foot complex stands along the Hudson River waterfront just west of the High Line. The project will yield 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resort Spa, the first location in the United States. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction and Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.

Gabellini Sheppard Associates Reveals Revamp of Rockefeller Center’s Outdoor Lighting Scheme

Gabellini Sheppard Associates has proposed an extensive redesign of existing lighting fixtures in an effort to improve the illumination of distinguished artworks throughout Rockefeller Center. The scope of work covers nearly every building and their respective façades between West 48th Street and West 51st Street, spanning Sixth Avenue, Rockefeller Plaza, and Fifth Avenue.

The West’s Façade Continues Installation at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen

Exterior work is progressing on The West, a 12-story residential building at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. Located between West 47th Street and West 48th Street, the 201,000-square-foot project is designed by Concrete and developed by Ironstate Development, CB Developers, and SK Development Group, which purchased the property for $93 million in the summer of 2018. The developers are aiming for LEED certification.
