Construction is close to topping out at Second Farms, a new 15-story affordable housing development at 1932 Bryant Avenue in the West Farms neighborhood of The Bronx. With ardent support from local officials and community members, the project is part of a major redevelopment plan from the Archdiocese of New York City to modernize and reinvigorate West Farms, including the creation of up to 2,000 affordable and low-income housing properties.

Virgin Hotel’s Glass Curtain Wall Rising Quickly at 1225 Broadway in NoMad

Work on Virgin Hotel‘s reflective glass curtain wall is making quick progress at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec, the 476-foot-tall superstructure topped out in February, and over the past months the envelope has climbed closer to the building’s pinnacle. The tower will feature 300,000 square feet of newly built space, of which most will be occupied by its 460 hotel rooms. The lower podium floors will contain 90,000 square feet of retail. Lam Group is the developer of the property, and Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group will be in charge of managing the hotel.

Construction Elevators Coming Down on 15, 30, and 35 Hudson Yards as Equinox Hotel Opens

Work on 15, 30, and 35 Hudson Yards in the first phase of Related Companies’ master plan is wrapping up, as the construction elevator hoists on the exterior of the skyscrapers are in the process of being dismantled. The fast pace of construction at the $25 billion Midtown site was followed by a number of milestone completions, dedication ceremonies, and openings. 15 Hudson Yards is designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Rockwell Group, 30 Hudson Yards by Kohn Pedersen Fox, and 35 Hudson Yards by Skidmore Owings & Merrill.
