It was in September of 2014 that YIMBY brought you news of a planned 11-story, 73-unit mixed-use building at 25-24 Jackson Avenue (a.k.a. 5 Court Square) in Long Island City, at the corner of Thompson Avenue, just across the street from One Court Square. Now, we have an idea what it will look like, courtesy of renderings from Flushing-based MY Architect.
Long Island-based Hersel Sakhaee has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 1031 Broadway, in northern Bushwick, located three blocks down from the Myrtle Avenue stop on the J/M/Z trains. The project will measure 6,750 square feet in total and includes a 1,687 square-foot ground-floor retail portion. The residential units will begin on the second floor and average 844 square feet apiece. Hudson Valley-based Kenneth Thomas is the applicant of record.
Just before New Year’s, Foster Equities filed applications for a six-story, 28-unit residential building at 322 Gates Avenue, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, located six blocks south of the Bedford – Nostrand Avs. stop on the G train. According to DNAinfo, the building will measure 22,272 square feet in total and will include a 991 square-foot retail portion on the ground floor. The residential units, which will be rentals, will begin on the second floor and average 760 square feet apiece. Z Architecture is designing the project. The single-story Bedford Beer & Soda Dist. building, acquired for $4.5 million last March, was approved for demolition in the fall.
It has been about three months since we checked in on the coming Robert A.M. Stern creation at 220 Central Park South. Progress has been made since then. Photos taken by our friend Tectonic show the tower portion of the building, which rests on West 58th Street, is several stories taller, approaching the 10-story mark on its way to 66 stories.

Today, we’re bringing you and update on a significantly bigger project around the corner on the south side of West 57th Street between Eleventh Avenue and Twelfth Avenue.
