The New York City Department of Buildings recently approved applications to construct a new 30-story mixed-use property at 3875 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan. The development is located at the waterfront edge of Inwood and will create over 600 units of affordable and middle-income housing, roughly 62,000 square feet of retail space positioned on the lower levels of the building, and 122 parking spaces.
Demolition is now complete at 41-47 West 57th Street, the site of a 1,100-foot-tall mixed-use supertall in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA and developed by Sedesco, the 63-story building will yield 119 residential units spread across 443,100 square feet, nearly 205,100 square feet of commercial space in the form of a 158-room hotel, and a 10,212-square-foot restaurant. The project is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will have frontage along both West 57th and West 58th Streets. Sedesco is offering to help construct a pair of new ADA-accessible elevators to the nearby 57th Street station on Sixth Avenue, servicing the F train, in exchange for an additional 52,000 square feet.
Finishing touches are underway on 7 West 57th Street, a 19-story mixed-use tower along Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Solow Realty & Development Group, the 237-foot-tall structure is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, directly adjacent to the eastern side of Solow’s 50-story SOM-designed skyscraper at 9 West 57th Street.
Exterior work is nearing completion on the renovation of 1100 Avenue of the Americas, a 15-story commercial building at the corner of West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue in Midtown. Alternatively addressed as Two Bryant Park, the project is developed by Brookfield Properties and involves the refurbishment of the structure’s 386,190 square feet of floor space and a new modern curtain wall designed by MdeAS Architects. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project.
The final steel façade is making its way up the sides of 76 Eighth Avenue, a ten-story commercial building in Greenwich Village. Gene Kaufman Architect designed the exterior, while RAAD Studios designed the lobby interior and Plus Design Studios did the office floor interiors. Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development are the developers of the 120-foot-tall structure, which will yield 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street, on the border of the Meatpacking District, Chelsea and West Village neighborhoods.
