126 East 57th Street Reaches Street Level In Midtown, Manhattan 

Construction has reached street level at 126 East 57th Street, the site of a 28-story residential building on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture , who is also in charge of the interior design, and developed by MRR Development under the MRR 1326 LLC, the 346-foot-tall structure will yield 147 condominium units spread across 170,000 square feet, as well as 5,000 square feet of lower-level retail space. WSP USA is the engineer and Plaza Buildings is the general contractor for the project, which is being constructed on an L-shaped parcel at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. A narrow panhandle section of the building’s footprint will extend north to East 57th Street.

YIMBY toured The Wales, a newly converted 11-story condominium building at 1295 Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed and owned by Adellco, which purchased the site from LJ Real Estate Capital Partners in 2018 for $56.3 million, along with Parisian design studio PINTO, the historic building features a collection of 21 condominium units and accompanying amenity spaces. Form4 Design Studio and Higgins Quasebarth designed the renovations and upper two-story expansion, and Press Builders served as the general contractor for the property, which was formerly known as Hotel Wales and stands at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 92nd Street. Condominium closings commenced back in March with residences priced from $3.59 million to $21.5 million for the penthouse.

Construction recently topped out on 200 East 75th Street, an 18-story residential building in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by EJS Development, which purchased the property for $32.5 million in March 2021, the 214-foot-tall structure will span 97,569 square feet and yield 36 condominium units and ground-floor retail space. Triton Construction Industry is the general contractor for the project, which is alternately addressed as 1305-1307 Third Avenue and located at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 75th Street.
