The foundation work is underway at 308 Livingston Street, a 23-story, 160-unit rental building in Downtown Brooklyn. The project is designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and is being developed by Lonicera Partners, which purchased the lot in May 2019 for $11 million and demolished several low-rise structures to clear the way for the new development.
YIMBY stopped by 540 Fulton Street to check on the progress of the 511-foot-tall skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Façade work appears to have stalled on the topped-out mixed-use tower, which is designed by Marvel Architects and developed by Jenel Management. Located at the corner of Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue, the 43-story project will yield 330,000 square feet, with 239,142 square feet spread across 327 residential units, as well as 71,844 square feet of commercial space and 22,054 square feet of retail on the podium floors. Zebian International Façade Solutions is the manufacturer for the glass and metal curtain wall.
Construction is finally about to go vertical at 9 DeKalb Avenue, the first supertall skyscraper in the outer boroughs. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, the Downtown Brooklyn residential tower is planned to stand 1,066 feet above the neighborhood.
Demolition work has stalled at 570 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn, the site of a proposed 550-foot-tall skyscraper designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Slate Property Group. Scaffolding and blue netting still shroud the main façade of the existing building, and it appears that little progress has been made since YIMBY’s January visit. As planned, the new development would yield a mixture of market-rate apartments, affordable housing, retail, and small-scale office space.
Workers have begun pouring the foundations for 23-20 Jackson Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use hotel in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the corner property will yield 85,851 square feet of retail, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp.
