Related’s redevelopment of the formerly open-air West Side railyards is now becoming very apparent on the skyline, thanks to the rapidly rising 10 Hudson Yards. The Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed tower is closing in on its pinnacle, and the latest photo sent in by reader Mike McLaughlin shows its newly prominent position on the horizon.
Fencing is up around the site of Staten Island’s planned New York Wheel, in St. George, and it appears construction is now in full motion, per the Staten Island Advance. In 2014, YIMBY brought you renderings of the 630-foot-tall Ferris wheel, which ‘New York Wheel LLC’ is developing and Starneth BV is designing (with Perkins Eastman). Completion is expected in the first half of 2017, alongside the Empire Outlets, also in St. George.

But YIMBY noticed that excavation and foundation work had started at 925 Hunts Point Avenue, a 40,000-square-foot mall planned across from the Bruckner Expressway and next to the Hunts Point Avenue 6 train stop.
A one-story building in Greenwich Village will see a new life as a Mexican restaurant. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a proposal to transform 255 Bleecker Street, most recently a sushi restaurant, into Tacombi – La Cornelia.
