Work Wraps Up on ODA’s Cubic 101 West 14th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is getting closer to completion on 101 West 14th Street, a 13-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Alternately addressed as 531 Sixth Avenue, the reinforced concrete structure is designed by ODA Architecture and developed by Gemini Rosemont and will yield 44 condominium units as well as 5,830 square feet of ground-floor retail space for two tenants. Residential sales launched last year and are being led by Ryan Serhant of Nestseekers International’s Serhant Team, with prices starting at $1.35 million for one-bedroom units. Whitehall Interiors is in charge in interior designs and New Line Structures is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, just above the border with Greenwich Village.

Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail. RAAD Studios designed the lobby space and Plus Design Studios designed the office interiors for the property, which is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street, on the border of the Meatpacking DistrictChelsea, and West Village neighborhoods.

555 Greenwich Street Rises Past Halfway Mark in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction has passed the halfway mark on 555 Greenwich Street, a 16-story commercial building in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by the joint venture Hudson Square Properties, which includes Trinity Church Wall StreetHines, and Norges Bank Investment Management, the 270,000-square-foot structure will connect on nearly every floor with its adjacent neighbor at 345 Hudson Street via a horizontal overbuild, bringing the overall leasable space to 715,000 square feet. The project is also being designed as one of the city’s most sustainable buildings. Tishman Construction is the contractor for the building, which is rising on a plot bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Charlton Street to the south, and King Street to the north.

The first rendering has been released for 24-01 Queens Plaza North, a 19-story residential tower in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by ODA New York and developed by New Empire Corporation, the building will house more than 100 condominium units ranging from studios up to two-bedrooms. The amenity offerings will include a penthouse resident lounge, communal outdoor spaces, on-site parking, and a fitness center. The lower levels of the building will also house an unspecified commercial volume.

Façade Installation Begins for Disney‘s New York Headquarters at Four Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Façade installation has begun on Four Hudson Square, Disney’s rising 22-story New York headquarters at 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Silverstein Properties, the 338-foot-tall structure will yield 1.2 million square feet of commercial space. The media giant purchased the rectangular full-block parcel from Trinity Church Real Estate for a total of $650 million, and Skanska was in charge of demolishing four old structures that once occupied the site. Lendlease is constructing the new headquarters, which is bound by Varick Street to the east, Spring Street to the south, Hudson Street to the west, and Vandam Street to the north.
