10-Story, 428-Unit Mixed-Use Building Tops Out at 30-02 39th Avenue, Long Island City

Construction has topped out on the 10-story, 428-unit mixed-use building under development at 30-02 39th Avenue, in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City. Progress on the structure, including façade installation, can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the project encompasses 413,138 square feet and rises 123 feet to its main roof. There will be 3,181 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, followed by 428 residential units across the ground through 10th floors. The apartments should average 679 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. The Lightstone Group is the developer and Gerner, Kronick + Valcarcel (GKV Architects) is the architect. Completion is expected later this year.

Scaffolding Removal Underway at 19-Story, 60-Unit 153 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights

It’s been a little over four months since we checked in on the construction at 153 Remsen Street, in Brooklyn Heights. Now, scaffolding removal is underway at the 19-story, 60-unit building between Clinton and Court streets. The progress can be seen thanks to a photo sent to YIMBY by prolific construction chronicler Tectonic. Quinlan Development and Lonicera Partners are the developers. Navid Maqami’s S9 Architecture is responsible for the design.

Lightstone Group Tests Waters for 244-Unit Condominium Tower at 130 William Street, Financial District

The Lightstone Group is now exploring market demand for a 244-unit condominium tower at its Financial District development site at 130 William Street. The developer is abandoning previous plans, filed in March 2015, for a 50-story residential-hotel tower, The Real Deal reported. The latest building applications at the Department of Buildings have been amended to reflect the change in plans. Although the number of units don’t match reports, the latest filings detail a 61-story, 188-unit tower with 15,373 square feet of retail across the cellar through second floors. The structure would measure 386,588 square feet and rise 750 feet in height. Goldstein, Hill & West Architects is the architect of record.


29-26 Northern Boulevard

43-Story, 467-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Rises to 16th Floor at 29-26 Northern Boulevard, Long Island City

Construction is now 16 floors above street level on the 43-story, 467-unit mixed-use building under development at 29-26 Northern Boulevard, in the Queens Plaza section of Long Island City. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the tower will encompass 500,302 square feet and rise 481 feet to the top of its bulkhead. There will be 11,372 square feet of retail space on the cellar through second floors, followed by 467 apartments across the second through 41st floors. The units should average 791 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Simon Baron Development is the developer and Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the architect. Completion is expected in 2018.
