Rogers Stirk Harbour+Partners Proposing New Construction and Expansion on Three Sites in West Chelsea Historic District

Led by Rogers Stirk Harbours + Partners, the UK-based design team has proposed a large development project in the West Historic Chelsea District. Consisting of three adjoining construction sites, the firm is seeking to create a new eleven-story building at 550 West 27th Street, as well as an expanded upper section on top of 260 Eleventh Avenue and an exterior renovation of 549 West 26th Street. The proposal is now under review by the Landmark Preservation Committee as of January 10, 2019.

Upper Half of 1 South First Begins to Conjoin Above Domino Sugar Factory Redevelopment, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

When YIMBY last checked in on 260 Kent Avenue, the building had only risen a few floors over Domino Park. Now, construction workers are bridging the gap between the two reinforced concrete structures that make up the bottom half of the structure. The 435-foot tall residential tower is being designed by COOKFOX, and will yield 462,000 square feet of space. There will be 330 rentals, 66 affordable units, and 150,000 square feet of office space spread among 22 floors, as well as 13,000 square feet of retail space at the base. 520 Fifth Avenue

Checking In On Ceruzzi Properties’ Planned 76-Story Skyscraper at 520 Fifth Avenue, in Midtown Manhattan

Set to rise at the northern corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, 520 Fifth Avenue is likely to be the first skyscraper along Fifth Avenue to top the 900-foot mark. The project will rise in the heart of Midtown, one street away from the eastern end of Bryant Park. The glass-enclosed tower will have 76 floors and stand 920 feet to its pinnacle. Handel Architects is the architect, and Arthur Hooper of Ceruzzi Properties will be developing in conjunction with SMI USA.
