Renovation and Expansion Work Progresses on 125 Barclay Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Expansion and and renovation work is progressing on 125 Barclay Street, an 11-story commercial building in Tribeca. Originally constructed in 1932 as the World Telegram Building, the 280,000-square-foot structure is undergoing an overhaul that involves the replacement of its brick envelope with a modern glass curtain wall, the full gutting of the interiors and restoration of the terracotta flooring, and the construction of an 11th story above the current parapet.

Construction Begins at 335 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

A mixed-use development at 335 Fifth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan has officially broken ground. Located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 3rd Avenue, the project is the latest development from MAG Partners and global holding company Safanad, who’ve retained COOKFOX Architects to design the property and Urban Atelier Group as general contractor.

Permits Filed for 8521 25th Avenue in Gravesend, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 8521 25th Avenue in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Located between 85th Street and 86th Street, the lot is steps from the 25th Avenue subway station, serviced by the D train. Tejpal Sandhu of 86th Street NY LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Affordable Senior Housing Building Opens at 2850 Webster Avenue in Jerome Park, The Bronx

A new affordable housing project for seniors has opened at 2850 Webster Avenue in Jerome Park, The Bronx, where developers and city officials recently joined for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located next to The New York Botanical Garden, the 12-story building was completed by Douglaston Development and designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group.

Developers Reveal Plans to Redevelop the Shuttered Galleria Mall in White Plains

Seven months after the Galleria Mall in White Plains closed its doors, developers have revealed a seven-building residential complex to replace the shuttered building. The development team includes Pacific Retail Capital Partners (PRCP), The Cappelli Organization, SL Green Realty Corporation, and Aareal Bank.

Demolition Finishes for COOKFOX’s 335 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Demolition work is complete at 335 Eighth Avenue, the site of an upcoming seven-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX and developed by MAG Partners and Penn South (aka Mutual Redevelopment Houses, Inc.), the 200,000-square-foot structure will yield 188 residential units with 30 percent dedicated to affordable housing for low- and middle-income residents under the Affordable NY Program, as well as a 23,000-square-foot Lidl grocery store on the ground floor. Titan Industrial SVC Corp served as the demolition contractor and Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 26th Street within the Penn South affordable housing cooperative, officially known as Mutual Redevelopment Houses. The project is being co-financed by MAG Partners and global holding company Safanad.

300 Huntington Street Nears Completion in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Work is nearing completion on 300 Huntington Street, a six-story commercial building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects and Bernheimer Architecture and developed and built by Monadnock Development, the 101,000-square-foot structure will yield 80,000 square feet of office space, 12,290 square feet of retail space, a 3,470-square-foot industrial workshop, 5,780 square feet of unspecified building service area, and a 15,490-square-foot rear yard dedicated to the anchor tenant. The property is bound by Huntington Street to the north, 9th Street to the south, the Gowanus Canal to the east, and Smith Street to the east.
