Façade Installation Begins for KPF’s 520 Fifth Avenue Supertall in Midtown, Manhattan

Façade installation has begun on 520 Fifth Avenue, a rising 76-story residential supertall in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, which took over from Ceruzzi Properties and SMI USA in 2019, the 1,000-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 415,000 square feet with 98 condominium units, as well as commercial space on the lower floors and four cellar levels. Charles & Co. is going to be the interior designer, WSP is the structural engineer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant, and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

LPC Approves Alteration Project for the Martinique New York Hotel at 1260 Broadway in Midtown, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved a major renovation project at the historic Martinique New York Hotel at 1260 Broadway in the Koreatown section of Midtown, Manhattan. Led by Building Studio Architects and Burnett Equities, current owner of the hotel, the scope of work includes the installation of marquee signage, modern light fixtures, restoration of the building’s existing windows to historic conditions, and new entryways for retail tenants.

Zero Irving Completes Construction at 124 East 14th Street in Union Square, Manhattan

Construction is complete on Zero Irving, a 21-story mixed-use building at 124 East 14th Street in Union Square, Manhattan. Designed by Davis Brody Bond and developed in partnership by RAL Development Services and Junius Real Estate Partners, the 176,000-square-foot structure contains affordable and market-rate office space for technology firms as well as a three-floor education and training center, a tech incubator, coworking spaces, and a 10,000-square-foot ground-floor food hall managed by Urbanspace. JLL has served is the leasing and marketing agent for the office space and Suffolk Construction was the general contractor for the project, which is located along East 14th Street between Third Avenue to the east and Broadway to the west.

Foundations Underway at 66 South 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Foundation work has begun at 66 South 6th Street, the site of a five-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Archwey Architect PLLC and developed by 66 South 6th LLC, the structure will yield an undisclosed number of units along with ground-floor commercial space. Yilong Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which is located on a 25-foot-wide interior lot between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street.

The Yellowstone Wraps Up Construction at 69-65 Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills, Queens

Construction is finishing up on The Yellowstone, an 11-story residential building at 69-65 Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills, Queens. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Slate Property Group and Grobman-Gross Properties, the 182,000-square-foot structure yields 166 apartments in one- to two-bedroom layouts with 50 units designated as affordable housing, as well as a 50,000-square-foot Trader Joe’s, space for a bank branch, and 186 enclosed parking spaces. MNS Real Estate is leading leasing and marketing and SD Builder and Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Queens Boulevard to the northeast, Yellowstone Boulevard to the northwest, 69th Road to the southeast, and Gerard Place to the southwest.

Developer Closes on $94M Loan for 247 North Avenue in New Rochelle, New York

Developer LCOR has closed on a $94 million loan to complete a 28-story residential tower in New Rochelle, New York. The property is located at 247 North Avenue and is on track to debut as one of the largest buildings to incorporate a geothermal system for heating and cooling interior spaces.

New Renderings Revealed for 68-Story Skyscraper at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Updated renderings have been revealed for 100 West 37th Street, a forthcoming 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will yield 384,118 square feet with 300 condominium units spread across 297,301 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. Northeast Specialist Group is currently serving as the demolition contractor for the corner property, which is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and located at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.

Construction signage posted at the development site for 85 Dekalb Avenue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn is the first to reveal how the high-rise mixed-use tower will take shape. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the tower will top out at 29 stories and comprise just under 289,000 square feet and yield 275 rental apartments, a 46,000-square-foot community facility, and a parking garage for up to 198 vehicles.

250 East 83rd Street Stands Topped Out Over Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has topped out on 250 East 83rd Street, a 31-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Torkian Group, the 370-foot-tall structure will yield 128 residential units with interiors by Lemay_id, as well as ground-floor retail space. Cauldwell Wingate Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 83rd Street.

300 East 83rd Street Nears Topping Out On Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is closing in on the final floors of 300 East 83rd Street, a 22-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 235-foot-tall structure will span 93,682 square feet and yield 70 condominium units with an average scope of 1,305 square feet, as well as cellar level and ground-floor retail space. A portion of the homes will be reserved for affordable housing. Hudson 37 LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is alternately addressed as 1594-1598 Second Avenue and located at the corner of East 83rd Street and Second Avenue.
