Last month, YIMBY reported on demolition applications for a squat little three-story commercial building at 542 West 22nd Street, where art gallery Hauser & Wirth plans to build its newest outpost.
Now the London-based art seller has filed plans for its new five-story building between 10th and 11th Avenues.
Rego Park-based Borough Realty Holdings has filed applications for a single-story, 11,422 square-foot commercial development at 3917-3919 Baychester Avenue and 1217-1223 East 233rd Street, in the North Bronx neighborhood of Edenwald. The project is being broken up into six small buildings, and though the type of commercial space is not specified in filings, retail or offices are likely. Iljoong Kim’s Flushing-based Choi Design is the applicant of record, and permits were filed last February to remove an existing gas station on the site.
Nassau County-based Feinstein CP Realty has filed applications for a four-story, 81,532 square-foot automotive commercial building at 30-35 College Point Boulevard, in southern College Point. The building will handle automobile sales, repairs, and other services, and will also hold storage space and associated offices. The nearly 120,000 square-foot lot will include 149 parking spaces, and Maryland-based Penny Design Group is the applicant of record.
Back in May, a developer filed plans to convert a warehouse into a nightclub at 599 Johnson Avenue, on the western edge of Bushwick’s industrial business zone. Now we have the first look at the warehouse’s transformation, which will liven up a pretty dead commercial block between Scott and Gardner Avenues.
Shorenstein Properties is renovating the 43-story, 1.1-million square-foot office building at 1407 Broadway, between West 38th and 39th Street, according to Real Estate Weekly. The updates will include a new lobby, entrance and retail space, as well as façade improvements on the rest of the building. Roughly 33,000 square feet of retail space will span the ground floor, and Fogarty Finger is leading the design process. Shorenstein acquired the building for $330 million this past spring.
