Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences Nears Completion at 1185 Broadway in Nomad, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on the Ritz -Carlton Hotel and Residences, a 45-story skyscraper at 1185 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 580-foot-tall tower will yield 250 guest rooms spread across 150,000 square feet, as well as a collection of 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences on the upper levels. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Christie’s International Real Estate is handling the sales of the penthouse residences.

Douglaston Development Opens 18,000-Square-Foot Medical Facility at Crossroads Plaza in The South Bronx

Douglaston Development recently debuted an 18,000-square-foot medical facility at Crossroads Plaza, a mixed-use affordable housing development in The Bronx. The property is located at 828 East 149th Street in Mott Haven and will be operated by Essen Health Care.

Permits Filed for a Two-Tower Development at 495 11th Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for 495 Eleventh Avenue, a pair of mixed-use residential skyscrapers atop of a five-story podium in Midtown West, Manhattan. Located between West 39th and 40th Streets, the two towers will stand 680 feet tall and 57 stories, and 653 feet tall and 56 stories. NYC Economic Development Corporation is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Dual-Brand Marriott Wraps Construction at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Work is wrapping up on 140 West 28th Street, a 46-story dual-brand Marriott Hotel tower in Chelsea. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sam Chang of the McSam Hotel Group, the 470-foot-tall tower will yield 531 guest rooms split between Springhill Suites by Marriott and Townplace Suites by Marriott Properties. Omnibuild is the general contractor for the 173,000-square-foot reinforced concrete edifice, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Flower District.

Foundation Work Reaches Street Level at 75 West Broadway in Tribeca, Manhattan

Foundation work is complete at 75 West Broadway, the site of a ten-story, 120-foot-tall residential building in Tribeca. Alternately addressed as 61 Warren Street, the 55,000-square-foot structure is designed by BKSK Architects and being developed by Cape Advisors and Forum Absolute Capital Partners. First Standard Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Warren Street to the north and Murray Street to the south.

Waldo Inks Lease at The Breeze, at 315 Meserole Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn

Waldo is the latest company to join The Breeze, a 100,000-square-foot Class A office building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The property is located at 315 Meserole Street and includes a 6,000-square-foot landscaped courtyard with outdoor seating, a 2,000-square-foot retail arcade titled ‘The Breezeway,” and a rooftop restaurant.

Located at the intersection of Kew Gardens Road and 81st Avenue, the lot is two blocks from the Kew Gardens – Union Turnpike subway station, serviced by the E and F trains. Yong Chen under the 89 Jackson Heights LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Hyatt Place Hotel Completes Construction at 140 West 24th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Omnibuild has completed construction on The Hyatt Place Hotel, a 45-story tower at 140 West 24th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and developed by Sam Chang, the 416-foot-tall structure will yield 510 guest rooms spread over 173,000 square feet, making it one of the largest hotels to open in 2021. The reinforced concrete superstructure rises between Sixth and Seventh Avenues and features a lightweight limestone rainscreen façade. Work broke ground in January 2019 and was developed in partnership with Magna Hospitality Group.

Permits Filed for Affordable Housing Tower at 405 West 206th Street in Inwood, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 17-story mixed-use building with affordable housing at 405 West 206th Street in Inwood, Manhattan. Encompassing the block along Ninth Avenue from West 206th to West 207th Streets, the lot is one block from the 207th Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. L+M Development Partners is listed as the owner behind the applications, after purchasing 20,000-square-foot parking lot for $7.2 million earlier this year.

FÖRENA’s Brick Façade Begins to Emerge at 540 Sixth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Scaffolding has begun to come down from FÖRENA, revealing the brick façade of the 12-story residential building at 540 Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Landsea Homes and DNA Development, the 80,000-square-foot building will yield 50 units in one- to three-bedroom layouts marketed by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of The Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman. Ryder Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue.
