Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 144-21 Sanford Avenue, in Murray Hill, Queens. The site is five blocks away from the Murray Hill train station, serviced by the Port Washington line on the LIRR. The Main Street-Flushing subway station is seven blocks away, end of the line for 7 trains. Rong Xin Sanford Realty LLC is the developer.
A rendering has been spotted at 118 East 1st Street, a nine-story new development in the East Village directly overlooking the Lower East Side. The site is three blocks away from the Essex Street subway station, serviced by the F, J, M, and Z trains. Six blocks away is the Tompkins Square Park. Cynthia Wu and Robert Marty are listed as the developers.
Development around Union Square has always been tightly monitored, which makes any newsfor the neighborhood all the more exciting. Today, YIMBY has an exclusive first look at new renderings for 110 East 16th Street, a Morris Adjmi Architects-designed mixed-use building which hopes to rise 21 floors above ground. The City Landmark Preservation granted approval in January for the proposal, though the ULURP process is still underway. The current structure, a nine-story parking garage, may be one of the few in the area whose demolition won’t cause a stir.
Significant progress has been made on the construction of a six-story building at 199 Montrose Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The lot has been vacant for at least a decade, with proposals for other developments on record as early as 2008. It appears that foundation work has been started, with steel paneling raised to ground level. It does not look as though concrete has been poured yet. Ranco Capital LLC is responsible for the development.
CTBUH, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, has announced the 2018 pool of winners from its 16th Annual Tall Buildings Award Program. Out of nearly 50 finalists from 28 countries, the awards jury selected the American Copper Buildings in New York City for the top honor.
