90-Story Hotel & Casino In The Works At 100 Caven Point Road, Jersey City

Ahead of a vote that would allow casinos to operate in northern New Jersey, Paul Fireman is refining plans for a casino project, dubbed Liberty Rising, and located at 100 Caven Point Road, directly north of his golf course in southern Jersey City. According to The Wall Street Journal, a 90-story, 1,500-key luxury hotel is in the works, which would include a slew of restaurants and a theater.

Vornado Realty Acquires Retail Building At 150 West 34th Street For $355 Million

Vornado Realty Trust has acquired the low-rise retail building at 144-150 West 34th Street, in Midtown South, for $355 million from a partnership between Starwood Capital Group and Crown Acquisitions. The three-story, 78,000 square-foot building is leased by Old Navy; their lease expires in five years, and the property boasts 300,000 square feet of commercial building rights if redeveloped.

21st Century Fox, News Corp. Close to Signing Leases at Two World Trade Center

News Corp. and 21st Century Fox have signed a letter of intent to lease a combined 1.3 million square feet at Larry Silverstein’s planned 2 World Trade Center, located at 200 Greenwich Street, in the Financial District, according to the New York Post. A deal has yet to be finalized, but the move would jump-start construction of the 2.8 million square-foot, 80-plus-story tower, which is being redesigned by Bjarke Ingels Group.


17 John Street

23-Story Commercial Building Filed At 17 John Street, Financial District

Prodigy Network has filed applications to convert and expand the existing 15-story, 104,500 square-foot commercial building at 17 John Street, in the Financial District, to a 23-story, 194-key extended-stay hotel; office and retail space is also planned. The expanded building will measure roughly 149,600 square feet, and Woods Bagot is designing, while Mancini Duffy is serving as the architect of record. The existing building was acquired for $85 million in 2014, according to The Real Deal.
