50 Hudson Yards’ Façade Installation Wraps Up in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Exterior work is nearing completion on 50 Hudson Yards, a 1,011-foot-tall commercial skyscraper in Hudson Yards and number ten on our year-end countdown. Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties, the 58-story Midtown, Manhattan supertall is the largest office building in the complex by volume at 2.9 million square feet and occupies a full-block parcel bound by West 34th Street to the north, Tenth Avenue to the east, West 33rd Street to the south, and Hudson Boulevard to the west.

Renderings Reveal Next Phase of Neptune/Sixth at 532 Neptune Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn

Cammeby’s International Group and Rybak Development have revealed the next phase of construction for Neptune/Sixth, an expanding mixed-use community in the heart of Coney Island. Located at 532 Neptune Avenue, this next phase will see the completion of three individual towers comprising a mix of apartments, amenities, ground-floor commercial space, community facilities, and 535 parking spaces.

Permits Filed for a 68-Story Skyscraper at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 68-story mixed-use building at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, the lot is three blocks north of the Herald Square subway station, serviced by the B, D, F, and M trains. Sioni Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

At number 11 on our construction countdown is 41-47 West 57th Street, an 1,100-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown. Designed by OMA and developed by Sedesco, the 63-story, 443,000-square-foot tower will yield 119 residential units spread across 237,000 square feet, a 158-room hotel spanning 205,100 square feet on floors two through 20, and a 10,212-square-foot restaurant. The skyscraper will rise from a plot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will have frontage along both West 57th and West 58th Streets.

Construction Progresses on 555 Greenwich Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on 555 Greenwich Street, a 16-story office building in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by the joint venture Hudson Square Properties, which includes Trinity Church Wall Street, Hines, and Norges Bank Investment Management, the structure will yield 270,000 square feet and will connect on nearly every floor with an adjacent building at 345 Hudson Street via a horizontal overbuild. Together, the complex will comprise 715,000 leasable square feet. The property is located along Greenwich Street between Charlton and King Streets.

520 Fifth Avenue Awaits Supertall Construction in Midtown, Manhattan

At number 12 on our construction countdown is 520 Fifth Avenue, a proposed 995-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina Properties, who took over as the lead developer in 2019 from Ceruzzi Properties and SMI USA, the 507,608-square-foot structure will yield 98 residential units, commercial space, and four cellar levels. Permit applications that were filed in the beginning of 2021 for the project, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street.

Graydon Chelsea Completes Construction at 128 West 23rd Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is complete on The Graydon Chelsea, a 16-story residential building at 128 West 23rd Street in Chelsea. Designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and developed by Valyrian Capital and Pan Brothers, the 40,230-square-foot structure yields 30 units averaging 1,200 square feet apiece, as well as retail space on the ground floor and cellar level. The property is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

Permits Filed for 544 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Located at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Carroll Street, the lot is one block from the Union Street subway station, serviced by the R train. Two Manhattan West’s Steel Superstructure Tops Out in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on Two Manhattan West, a 935-foot-tall commercial skyscraper in Midtown West and number 13 on our year-end countdown. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 58-story tower will yield 2 million square feet of office space directly to the south of its 996-foot-tall fraternal twin, One Manhattan West. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is aiming for LEED Gold Certification and is located at the corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue.

Hotel Indigo at 120 Water Street Awaits Grand Opening in the Financial District, Manhattan

Exterior work is complete on 120 Water Street, a 28-story Hotel Indigo in the Financial District. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and developed by Atlas Hospitality, the 299-foot-tall tower will yield 52,000 square feet and 128 rooms managed by Fortuna Realty Group. Raj Guru, principal of Atlas, is the owner of the property, which is located on a narrow plot between Pine and Wall Streets.
