An anonymous Midtown East-based LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 18,987-square-foot commercial building at 286 Lenox Avenue. That’s between East 124th and 125th streets in Harlem. The project will include 15,012 square feet of commercial space in total. Retail space will be located on the ground floor, followed by office space on the second through fourth floors. Staten Island-based Gambino+LaPorta Architecture will design the 58-foot-tall structure. The 44-foot-wide, 3,792-square-foot property is occupied by a two-story commercial building. Demolition permits haven’t been filed.

Office space will be located on the second floor. There will also be three loading berths and three off-street parking spaces. Virginia-based Butz Wilbern LTD is the architect of record. The 21,156-square-foot plot is vacant. The 167th Street stop on the 4 train is three blocks away.

The Hip Hop Hall of Fame has revealed plans to develop the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum & Hotel Building, a mixed-use structure that will include a museum, retail space, an entertainment complex, and a five-star hotel. Specific details have not been disclosed in terms of the scope of the project, but an preliminary rendering depicts a mid-rise structure. The organization will choose between two undisclosed sites, both of which are located in Manhattan and benefit from tourism and good transit, Real Estate Weekly reported. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame is currently seeking development partners for the project. Completion is anticipated in 2019.
