Two Three-Story, Two-Family Residential Buildings Coming To 43-14 212th Street, Bayside

Ming Hai Wang has filed applications for two three-story, two-family residential buildings at 43-12 – 43-14 212th Street, in central Bayside, located four blocks from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. Each new building will measure 3,519 square feet in total, with one unit located on the ground floor and the other occupying part of the second floor and the entire third floor. The second floors in each structure will have 192 square-foot outdoor terraces that will be accessible to both units. Flushing-based John Chen is the architect of record. Demolition permits were filed last year to raze the site’s two-and-a-half-story house.

Four-Story, Seven-Unit Residential Project Planned At 112-42 38th Avenue, North Corona

Xiao Hua Zhou has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building at 112-42 38th Avenue, in North Corona, located three blocks from the 111th Street stop on the 7 train. The structure will measure a total 5,500 square feet and units will average a rental-sized 785 square feet apiece. Each floor will contain two units except the top floor, where there will only be one unit. Flushing-based John Chen is the architect of record. Demolition permits were filed in June of 2015 to remove the existing single-story house from the 25-foot-wide lot.




Official Renderings Revealed Of Nordstrom Tower’s Retail Base Under Construction At 217 West 57th Street

Last week, YIMBY brought you a sneak peak of the glassy façade that will eventually be installed on Extell Development’s 95-story, 1,550-foot-tall condominium tower (officially Central Park Tower), currently under construction at 217 West 57th Street in Midtown. The supertall will boast Nordstrom’s first Manhattan flagship store, and now the Seattle Times has revealed official renderings of the building’s retail podium. The Seattle-based department store will span 363,000 square feet across eight stories (three below grade) in the development.
