Toll Brothers has agreed to modify its plans to construct a 161-acre planned community in Mount Pleasant, New York, following pushback from the town board. The proposals currently under review include the construction of 162 townhomes that must now be restricted to households with at least one occupant 55 years old and above.
Exterior work is nearing completion on NOVA, a 24-story residential building at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by SB Development Group, the Flatiron-esque structure will yield 86 condominium units in studio to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Modern Spaces, as well as 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space. SBGC, LLC is the general contractor for the $70 million project, which is bound by 41st Avenue to the east and 29th Street to the west.
AMS Acquisitions has revealed renderings for a two-tower rental development at 41 Buena Vista Avenue in Yonkers, New York. Plans are now in front of the Yonkers Planning Board and specify the creation of 873 apartments, 4,000 square feet of retail space, and 889 parking spaces.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 85-87 Herkimer Street, a pair of four-story residential buildings in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Zproekt Architects and developed by Elie Fourti, the structures yield six residences each. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $102,823 to $187,330.
Demolition is complete at 570 Fifth Avenue, the site of a potential 1,101-foot mixed-use supertall in the Diamond District of Midtown, Manhattan. Developed by Extell, the project could either unfold as a 78-story, 1.4-million-square-foot hotel and condominium tower or as an 860-foot-tall, 47-story office skyscraper yielding more than 1.5 million square feet. ALBA Services was the demolition contractor for the property, which spans between West 46th and West 47th Streets.
