Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Building Coming To 81 Starr Street, Bushwick

Brooklyn-based property owner Solomon Kubitchek has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 81 Starr Street, in western Bushwick, located five blocks from the Central Avenue stop on the M train. The project will total 7,639 square feet and its residential units will average 682 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. There will be two apartments on each floor. Lower Manhattan-based Jeffrey Kamen is the applicant of record. The 25-foot-wide lot is currently occupied by a single-story warehouse structure. Demolition permits have not yet been filed.

New Details For 11-Story, 56-Unit Residential Project At 11-51 47th Avenue, Long Island City

In August of 2014, YIMBY reported on applications for an 11-story, 56-unit residential building at 11-51 47th Avenue (a.k.a. 13-33 Jackson Avenue), in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, located directly above the 21st Street – Van Alst Avenue stop on the G train. Then last December, YIMBY reported that excavation was imminent following the demolition of the site’s former two-story warehouse. Now, the New York Times has the latest details on the Fogarty Finger-designed project, which will be clad in exposed concrete and industrial-esque windows. Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Project Filed At 18A Bleecker Street, Bushwick

Roei Paz, doing business as an anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 18A Bleecker Street, in central Bushwick, located three blocks from the Gates Avenue stop on the J and Z trains. The new structure will measure 7,762 square feet in total and each floor will contain two apartments. The residential units will average 686 square feet apiece, although one of the fourth-floor units will include an exclusive fifth-floor penthouse level. Ruslan Goychayev’s Brooklyn-based RSLN Architecture is the architect of record. An existing two-story townhouse must first be demolished.

Mixed-Use 117 Livingston Street Reaches Second Floor, DoBro

It was back in September of 2014 that YIMBY brought you word of plans for a 21-story mixed-use building at corner of Livingston Street, Boerum Place, and Red Hook Lane in Downton Brooklyn. It was in April of 2015 that demolition started and in June of 2015 that we showed you a rendering. Now, thanks to photos from our friend Tectonic, we can report that the project at 117 Livingston Street (a.k.a. 415 Red Hook Lane) has reached its second story.

The Durst Organization has just stopped construction on its sprawling megaproject on Hallets Point in Astoria, saying the taxes are “crushing” without the 421-a tax exemption. But developers are still rushing to build along the waterfront in the western Queens neighborhood. Developer Wayne Fried has filed applications for a seven-story, mixed-use building at 30-07 Vernon Boulevard, right next to Hallets Point and the East River.
