The New York City Housing Authority has partnered with BFC Partners, CB Emmanuel Realty, and non-profit organization Catholic Homes New York to complete $100 million in capital improvements at the West Brighton residential campus in Staten Island. Known formally as West Brighton I and II, the scope of work will impact more than 1,400 residents or 574 apartments spread across 14 buildings.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 2065 Valentine Avenue in Tremont, The Bronx. Located between East Burnside Avenue and East 180th Street, the lot is near the 182-183 Streets subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Alaudin Kolenovic of AK Premier Contracting Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Below-grade work is progressing at 25-01 Queens Plaza North, the site of a 26-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Grubb Properties, which purchased the property for $63 million in 2021, the 311-foot-tall structure will yield 417 units with 124 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 7,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 25-01 QPN Consigli Construction is the general contractor and King Contracting Group is responsible for brick and CMU installation at the project, which is located between Crescent and 27th Streets, directly adjacent to the elevated Queensboro Plaza station servicing the 7, N, and W trains.
BRP Companies has completed and opened a new 172-unit rental building at 10 Commerce Drive in New Rochelle. Known as Motif, the property contains a mix of 53 studios, 64 one-bedrooms, and 55 two-bedroom units. Amenity spaces include a fitness center, a resident lounge and co-working space, a landscaped courtyard with barbecue grills, an arcade room, a dog wash station, and on-site parking for 157 vehicles.
Foundations are taking shape at 27-48 Jackson Avenue, site of a 69-story residential skyscraper in Long Island City‘s Court Square district. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Building Orchard LLC, the 811-foot-tall tower will claim the title of tallest building in Queens and yield 635,000 square feet with 818 residential units, 11,700 square feet of retail space, and a two-story parking garage in the podium. Triton Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 43-01 Queens Street and occupies a full city block along Jackson Avenue between Queens and Orchard Streets.
