56 Leonard’s Sculptural Bean by Anish Kapoor Begins Installation in Tribeca

Work on 56 Leonard Street‘s amorphous mirrored “bean” sculpture has begun. The artwork sits at the base of Tribeca‘s tallest residential skyscraper designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Hill West Architects, and is the work of Anish Kapoor, the creator behind Chicago’s chrome steel-plated Cloud Gate and the ArcelorMittal Orbit from the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Construction workers are beginning to place the first portions of the bean into position with multiple sections arriving on site.

111 Varick Street’s Geometric Façade Reaches Roof Parapet in Hudson Square

The unique dark-colored curtain wall of 111 Varick Street has reached the roof parapet of the topped-out 27-story Hudson Square building. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Madigan Development, the ground-up residential project is located at the northern corner of Varick Street and Broome Street. CM & Associates is in charge of the construction process.

Construction Wraps on Tribeca Rogue at 108 Chambers Street in Tribeca

Construction has wrapped up on 108 Chambers Street in Tribeca. The ground-up condominium project, now called “Tribeca Rogue,” is located on a narrow 1,963-square-foot lot at the corner of Church Street. All the scaffolding has now been removed and glass panels have replaced the orange construction netting found along the terrace railings. Designed by Woods Bagot Architects and developed by Greystone Development, the reinforced concrete structure contains eight full-floor residences and one- to three- bedroom homes that begin at $2.95 million. Ryan Serhant of The Serhant Team is in charge of sales and marketing, which launched earlier this year.
