As the sprawling conversion of the old Empire Stores warehouses inches forward on the Dumbo waterfront, theater company St Ann’s Warehouse has made progress renovating one former tobacco warehouse at 45 Water Street into a performing arts space.
In January, AAD Construction Corp. acquired the two-story, 2,655 square-foot home at 7815 Narrows Avenue in Bay Ridge for $1.68 million, and filed demolition permits. Now a two-story, single-family residence measuring 4,222 square feet is planned for the property, per Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and Deber Consulting is designing. A block to the north, a similar single-family redevelopment is taking place at 35 78th Street.
Toby Moskovitz’s Heritage Equity Partners is planning a 10-story, 144-key hotel at 232 Siegel Street in East Williasmburg, near the Morgan L stop.
The pricey Oosten condo development has topped out with seven stories at 429 Kent Avenue in South Williamsburg, and workers have begun installing glassy facades on the building’s north side, along South 8th Street.
On the southern end of Williamsburg’s waterfront, a three-story commercial property at 484 Kent Avenue is about to hit the market as a development site, boasting 500,000 square feet of residential air rights. In 2011, the property was granted a zoning change to allow for three towers totaling 800 residential units, 30% of which would be affordable. Per Crain’s Business, HFZ Capital Group is interested in the property; the site is suspected to be valued north of $250 million.
